Welcome to the June update for OwMad followers near and far.

Our fundraising activities got off to a great start with the Manchester 10k, we all made it across the finishing line successfully and were joined by Mahdlo’s very own Terry and Sue Flanagan, Ruth Healey and Julie Holroyd. We all had a great day and started the first of many fundraising events. We have and since then we have had a steady flow of generous donations, we would like to thank all those who have supported us so far.
We have recently received a donation of a Manchester United shirt signed by their Oldham based legend Paul Scholes which will be auctioned and should boost our ‘funds raised’ quite considerably.
On the footballing theme, a quick mention for Nick’s Under 9s football team. They won their league last month, having gone a full season unbeaten; well done to them, a terrific achievement! Team OwMad will take great inspiration in its attempts to be just as successful.
Preparations for our next challenge are well under way now. Mount Snowdon promises to be a terrific day and we’re really looking forward to it. Luckily, living in and around Oldham gives us plenty of opportunity to acclimatise to walking up and down big hills!
