Mahdlo members had a fantastic time down on Yorkshire Street watching the Olympic Torch make its way through Oldham.
All week leading up to the torch coming through Oldham, Mahdlo Junior and Senior members had been getting creative working on banners to welcome the torch to Oldham portraying what the Olympic spirit means to them. There was a real party atmosphere down on Yorkshire Street and we got to see two torch bearers as we had lined up along the road where the Olympic Torch kiss point was to be. A once in a lifetime opportunity!
Mahdlo also had a stall on Market Place in the town centre, giving out information about Mahdlo and involving children and young people in speed stacking competitions and games of giant jenga, sign posting families
over to Mahdlo for our Sunday Family Zone Session where we were giving tours around the new centre, trying new family Olympic sports and making our very own Olympic torches!
