Mahdlo is a state of the art Youth Zone in the heart of Oldham for 8-21 year olds. Open 7 days a week 52 weeks of the year the facility offers an exciting range of activities and opportunities that all young people from across Oldham can access, whatever their ability, for just 50p as a member or £1 as a visitor
Mahdlo aims to make a real difference by providing opportunities for young people from across Oldham to come together to meet friends, have new experiences, learn new skills and access the support they need to develop and achieve their potential.
Our vision for Mahdlo is ‘a cutting edge youth zone that inspires motivation, pride, aspirations and cohesion’.
Our Mission is:-
To make a tangible difference to the lives of young people through quality provision that offers “somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to‟. We will work collaboratively with local partners to offer new experiences and innovative opportunities that add value to existing services, supports young people’s development and enables them to have a brighter future.
Our fantastic building was funded through a £5million myplace grant but Mahdlo is a local charity that relies on the support and generosity of the Oldham community to keep our doors open and offer a full range of activities for our young people.
It costs more than £1m each year to run Mahdlo. We are committed to making it affordable for all young people and therefore the low price membership and entrance fees are kept low only generating about 10% of the income we need. For the remainder we rely on donations, grants and community fundraising. To find out more about our wonderful Patrons and funders or to make a donation or help us raise funds click here
We have over 100 volunteers who are key to our team, they bring a wealth of skills and experiences and really help to make Mahdlo a success. We are always keen to hear from anyone interested in volunteering, there are a wide range of roles and opportunities available.
Mahdlo complements the high quality services and facilities that already exist in the town creating a network of activity and provision. We are keen to explore with local partners how we can successfully work together to offer the best support and provision for young people.
