Making It happen

The Youth Zone opened in March 2012.  Since then we have welcomed thousands of young people through our doors every night.

As well as keeping busy providing great stuff for young people to do, we’ve also been speaking to young people about what activities they want to see us offer and how we can help them access the Youth Zone, and speaking to local organisations about how they can get involved and benefit from Mahdlo.

Vicky, our volunteer coordinator, has been busy, and we already have over 40 people trained and working in our Zone sessions.  The Youth Zone relies on having a team of dedicated and enthusiastic local people to help make it a success and Vicky is keen to hear from people who want to make a difference. Why not give us a call and have a chat about getting involved – we’d really love to hear from you!

You may not realise it, but Mahdlo is a charity, and we rely on donations to keep our doors open every night.  It costs more than £1m each year to run Mahdlo but we want to keep membership prices low so that everyone who wants to get involved can.

So we’ve also been speaking to local business to get more Patrons on board.

It is the support of our Patrons that has enabled us to turn our dream into a fantastic reality for the town – but we still need more help. If you would like to discuss ways you could help please get in touch.
