Our Senior and Junior Zone members enjoyed fantastic residentials recently at two different locations. The Senior Zone group visited Colomendy Wales  5-7th August, whilst our Junior Zone group visited  Castleshaw  9-11th August.

Colomendy, Wales: In the first instance, the young people were mortified to find there was no mobile service at the centre and the fact that they had to make up their own beds and there was no parent/carer to do this for them. However on finding a tree near to the accommodation where mobile phone service was available, which became known as the Tree of Life, the group were connected to the word of technology again. All the young people pushed themselves to their limits and took part in all the activities varying from low ropes, campfire, Jacob’s Ladder, nightline, problem solving, raft building, 3G swing, scrapheap challenge, caving and Laser Zone.

At Castleshaw, there were a few nervous moments in the first instance with the ghyll scrambling as it rained, which made the activity even harder. However that did not deter our young people and every one of them made it to the top. They all worked as a team and supported each other throughout the activity and absolutely loved the scenery. On the second day the sun was out and although attacked by midges this didn’t sway the group from enjoying themselves. They built two rafts where everyone ended up in the water and lots of fun was had.
