Project Worker – Romanian Speaking

Job ref: RSPW-0819, 9 hrs. per week, 1 year fixed term

£8.21 – £10.29 per hour dependent on experience and qualification

We have an opportunity for a Romanian speaking Project Worker to join our successful team. You will deliver a range of exciting programmes to children and young people that will challenge, stimulate and provide new opportunities, in line with Mahdlo’s six themes.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to speak Romanian fluently and will have experience of face to face deliver work with young people aged 8-19 (25 years old with a disability) both in groups and individually.  You will also be confident in managing children and young people and supporting them to develop their social education by providing programmes of activities, services and facilities that are engaging. A commitment to personal and professional development is essential.

Sports Activity Worker

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Sports Activity Worker to join our successful team. You will deliver a range of exciting activity programmes that will challenge, stimulate and provide new opportunities, in line with Mahdlo’s Get Active theme.

The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering a wide range of sports activity sessions. You will be able to work with young people aged 8-19 years (25 with a disability) both in groups and individually.

Cook/Catering Assistant

£8.21 per hour, 12 hours 50 mins per week, temporary maternity cover with possible continuation

We are recruiting for a Cook/Catering Assistant to join our team. As part of the Catering team you will help plan, prepare and cook nutritious and affordable food for different dietary requirements. You will have a positive attitude and a commitment to delivering an excellent service to young people, staff and visitors at Mahdlo.

The ideal candidate will have a certificate in basic food and hygiene and will have experience of working in a customer facing environment. You will also ensure a high standard of hygiene and health and safety in the working environment.

Youth Worker

Post 1- 12 hrs per week, £10.29 per hour (evenings and weekends)

Post 2- 8 hrs per week, £10.29 per hour (evenings and weekends)

We have opportunities for two Youth Workers to join our successful team. You will provide professional youth work to deliver a range of exciting programmes to children and young people that will challenge, stimulate and provide new opportunities, in line with Mahdlo’s six themes.

The ideal candidate will have a qualification recognised by the JNC for Youth and Community Work. You will have experience of face to face youth work delivery and will be confident in working with and managing children and young people (8-19 and/or 25 years old with a disability, both in groups and individually) to develop their social education by providing programmes of activities, services and facilities that are engaging and enable young people to develop. You will also have a commitment to personal and professional development.

Volunteer Mentor

Make a difference in a young person’s life – become a Mahdlo Mentor! Mahdlo’s Mentoring scheme is designed to offer one-to-one support to young people aged 8-21.

Mentors are volunteers who come from all walks of life and can give up to two hours a week to offer support, guidance and assistance to a young person.
