Mahdlo launches minibus design challenge

Last year, in the middle of the pandemic, our minibus was stolen. With the support of the wonderful people of Oldham we were able to get a new minibus, and now we’re looking to make it a bit more special.

This is where we’re asking for your support, as we wrap the minibus in a design created by one of Oldham’s young people!

We’re asking the young people at schools across Oldham to take the outline of our minibus and create a design using the theme “What Oldham means to you”.

Here’s what you’ll need

Here’s what you need to know

This is a competition open to young people across Oldham and a large number of schools have already agreed to take part.

The only requirement is that the design includes our logo but schools are also able to use our PRIDE values to form lessons and learning opportunities:

• Passion
• Respect
• Inclusion
• Dependability
• Excellence

We look forward to visiting each participating school between 26 – 28 May to collect the designs! If your school would like to take part, please let us know by emailing events@mahdloyz.org.

The competition will be judged by leading businesses from across Oldham and Mahdlo’s junior voice group, with the winner announced at a live unveiling at the their school on Monday 28 June at 10.30am.

The winning designer will win an iPad Mini, their class will receive a year’s free membership to Mahdlo and free use of Mahdlo’s facilities and equipment for a day. The winning school will then receive a framed print of the winning design for pride of place.

On the day the winning class uses our facilities, we’ll pick up the winning designer and two of their friends in the minibus and bring them to and from Mahdlo!

Every young person that enters will receive a voucher for a free session at Mahdlo.

Please note that designs should be individual, and not per class or per school.
