The Mahdlo summer Holiday Zone is back! On weekdays from Monday 26 July to Friday 3 September we’ll be open with a wide range of arts and sports activities on offer.

Mahdlo Holiday Zone runs during the school holidays, Monday – Friday and is open to Mahdlo members aged 8-14 years, who have paid their £5 membership fee in full. Membership forms can be completed at reception or online. If you would like to enquire about your membership status, please contact reception on 0161 624 0111.

Your child will be looked after by our team of qualified and trained, DBS checked, youth workers, activity workers and volunteers.

To ensure the health and safety of your child whilst at Holiday Zone, advance booking is required.

Please note that all young people attending Mahdlo are expected to adhere to our members Code of Conduct, and young people must not attend if they have tested positive for Coronavirus, or have been told to self-isolate by NHS Track & Trace or their school.

Holiday Zone Schedule

Free school meals

Young people who receive free school meals can come to Mahdlo’s Holiday Zone for free, through a funding programme from the Department for Education and Oldham Council.

We’re providing a healthy hot meal and snacks, and fun activities from art to cooking to karaoke, all free for those who receive free school meals.

Ability Zone: CADS Events

CADS (Creative Amazing Dynamic Spaces) events also operate during school holidays.

Our CADS programme is well known for offering sport, health and leisure activities that are suitable for both able and disabled young people. These events will include both able and disabled children and will include a range of activities such as dance, climbing, trampolining, football, archery and creative activities. One-to-one support can be provided for those with more complex needs.

CADS takes place over three weeks:

  • Wednesday 4 August and Thursday 5 August
  • Wednesday 11 August and Thursday 12 August
  • Wednesday 18 August and Thursday 19 August

Each day starts at 10am and finishes at 3pm, with two activities and lunch throughout the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if my child has a known food allergy or special dietary requirements?

All meals, unless otherwise stated, are Halal, and there will always be a vegetarian option available. Please let us know at least 48 hours prior to the session that your child is due to attend, if they have any known food allergies or special dietary requirements, and we will do our utmost to accommodate these. In the event that we cannot accommodate these, please provide your child with a packed lunch. Please note that we cannot guarantee that our catering environments are completely free from nuts.

What happens if my child doesn’t look the food choices?

If your child doesn’t like the food options, please provide them with a packed lunch as alternative food choices are unavailable. Unfortunately we are unable to provide any discount to our rates for this.

Will my child need any additional money for food or drink?

We will provide water during the day for your child, and for bookings which include meal options, juice will be provided at meal times. Our tuck shop is open at various intervals during Holiday Zone, where we have drinks and snacks for sale.

Can my child still come if they’ve been sent home from school to isolate, or are in self-isolation?

For your child’s safety and that of the others attending holiday zone, please do not send your child if they have symptoms of Coronavirus, or are self-isolating.
