John Walkden, President of Oldham Metro Rotary, visited Oldham’s Youth Zone with a cheque for £387 to cover the cost of Santa’s grotto at the Mahdlo Christmas Fair.
It is the third festive fair that Oldham Metro Rotary have supported in this way. Mr Walkden said, “We are always keen to support local charitable organisations and have a long-standing relationship with Mahdlo. Our donation towards the Christmas grotto builds on those foundations and enables us to support all the young people that attend the youth zone.”
Marya Afsar, Mahdlo’s Inclusion Worker, is currently organising the Christmas Fair, which takes place on Saturday 21st December and will feature festive stalls, games and fun for all the family. Marya said, “It means so much to have this support from Oldham Metro Rotary – we can make the event even more magical for all our young people and their families!”
