We recently welcomed the family of Tyrese Glasgow to Mahdlo. Tyrese, a Junior member who regularly attended Holiday Zone, sadly passed away last year. His aunt, Jade Glasgow, set up a fundraising page and brought together members of the family to run the Great Manchester 10K to raise money for Mahdlo in his memory. They raised over £2500 which will go towards supporting the future development of our Holiday Zone offer.
Tyrese’s family said:
“Tyrese spent many happy days at Mahdlo, where he would go during half term with his sister Tiah.
To help keep Tyrese’s bright light shining the team at Mahdlo worked with his friends to build a pond at Dovestones Reservoir in Saddleworth in his memory. The pond now offers a fun place for children to play, but also provides a place for people to go to remember Tyrese.
Family and friends wanted to do something positive to help raise money for Mahdlo, and they came together to embark on a personal challenge to run the Manchester 10k in memory of Tyrese. He loved the outdoors, sports and being active, so the 10k seemed the perfect fit.”
