Mahdlo is family this winter
We are here to provide young people from across Oldham with opportunities, support and guidance so they get the very best start in life. This winter Mahdlo Youth Zone is part of your family.
If you want somewhere to have a hot meal, we’re here. If you’re looking for somewhere to spend the day together, our Sunday family sessions are open to any family.
Here’s just a few of the things we’re doing this winter:
- We’re providing a free hot meal to every young person, every session, seven days a week.
- We’re open every Sunday for anyone aged 0 to 19 (or 25 if they have an additional need or disability), and their families to come, have a warm meal together and enjoy a wide range of activities.
- We’re increasing the availability of our clothes and school uniform bank, now available every Sunday, because we know clothes are expensive and young people grow quickly.
Junior Zone at Mahdlo Youth Zone is the best place to hang out for anyone aged 8 to year 8. During these sessions, the building is open exclusively for Junior members. There’s no need to book, just come along at the start of the session, pay 50p and try out some of the activities we offer!
In year 9 our members move to Senior Zone, open every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night until late.
Whether it’s yoga and meditation, gym and weightlifting, or a quick game of FIFA on the Playstation, we have loads of opportunities for young people to take their minds off things.
If you want to learn a new skill, there’s vocal coaching, professional dance lessons, as well as revision space and CV advice to make school, and after school, that little bit easier.
We’re open every Saturday afternoon, from 1.30 until 4.30pm with an all-female team for all young females.
We’ve got loads of activities that focus on self-care, team-building, confidence and resilience, and we regularly have powerful female voices from the community, business and sport in session.
No booking is required, just turn up and join in.
