Mahdlo Youth Zone is a state-of-the-art multi-million Pound location providing young people aged 8 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs, engaging and exciting opportunities to try something new, seven days a week.
We work with more than 2,000 young people every month, we’re open for them seven days a week. Across weekdays, bank holidays and school holidays, we’re providing countless opportunities for young people.
We’ve got incredible facilities including a 3G Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) pitch climbing wall, boxing gym, three court sports hall, sensory room, fully equipped gym including weightlifting equipment, recreation area and dance, arts, music and media suites and much more.
The role
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a highly motivated and proactive person to the role of Operations Manager for a 12-month maternity leave cover. The ideal candidate will be available to commence employment in July/August 2023.
The post holder will lead all aspects of Mahdlo’s youth work provision and manage the team of staff and volunteers who deliver it. You will set and maintain high standards and ensure that the Youth Zone and its district provisions provide a supportive, safe, inclusive and positive environment that engages and retains young people from across the borough, and effects real change in their lives.
You will also ensure operational excellence and identify how the service can be further enhanced and developed.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in youth work at a senior level and in a range of settings with different specialisms. You will have a proven track record of leading in organisational safeguarding procedures and project management.
