Graham & Brown are the UK leaders in wallpaper with a turnover of £75 million and over 500 employees. Andrew has been the Chief Executive of the Blackburn based business for over 10 years. The company sell their products in over 75 countries with China their fastest growing market. Andrew is vice chairman of the Blackburn Youth Zone and in 2016 was awarded an MBE for services to manufacturing and voluntary services to young people
Bill Holroyd CBE DL
Bill is one of Britain’s most active and prominent philanthropists. In the early 80’s he set up his own foodservice distribution company Holroyd Meek that by 1994 had had a turnover of £190m serving over 7,000 restaurants across the UK. In 1995, Booker acquired the company and Holroyd started his own investment company. Since then Bill has invested in over 25 start-up and second-stage companies. Bill is the Chairman and Founder of the OnSide network of Youth Zones and in 2013 he was awarded a CBE for his charitable works.
Ian Hopkins QPM – Chief Constable Greater Manchester Police
Ian was appointed Chief Constable of GM Police in October 2015. He started his police career in Staffordshire in 1989 joining the Greater Manchester force in 2008. Ian has much experience of managing large events such as high profile football games as well as significant protests, firearms incidents and critical incidents. He is a Director of Marketing Manchester and the national lead for both the Policing of Party Political Conferences and Digital Engagement. In 2016 Ian was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
Jen Atkinson – Inspiring Travel Company
Since joining ITC in 2004 as Head of Marketing Jennifer has implemented a new vision and relaunched the company with a new management team and business structure in place. ITC was the first travel company to charter Concorde and employs 65 travel specialists. The business, also operates a number of other sister brands including Western & Oriental, Rainbow Tours, Villa Select, Regent Holidays, ITC Sports Travel and Horse Racing Abroad.
John Roberts – AO.Com
John founded the online electrical retailer Appliances Online in 2000 and has led them from being a domestic retailer in the UK in a single category, to operating in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands selling more products from multiple categories. The company rebranded as AO.com in 2013. They have operations in 18 locations, employ over 2,000 people and have revenue of £600 million. John has been involved in the Bolton Lads and Girls Club for over 25 years, is Deputy Chairman of the OnSide youth network and a trustee of the AO Smile Foundation.
Nick Bianchi – Arighi Bianchi
Established in 1854 Arighi Bianchi is a fourth generation furniture and interiors business based in Macclesfield. The store hosts some of the biggest brands in the industry within its 70,000ft² of showroom space. Long established in the town they also have a thriving café bar and currently employ over 100 staff. Nick joined Arighi Bianchi in 2004 after a varied career working as a translator in the football industry, then for international food broker PA Ross as an account manager and a sales director.
Mick Howard – Urban Bubble
Urbanbubble is an award-winning residential property management agent, providing services to residential apartment schemes in the North West, Leeds and Sheffield. The business was launched by Mick in 2008 from the spare bedroom of his city-centre apartment. Frustrated with the managing agent in place Mick took over management of the 70 apartments in his block and Urbanbubble was born. The business employs 66 full time people and has a turnover of over £1 million.
Nick Hopkinson MBE
Nick was a Director of Fundraising at Bolton Lads and Girls and raised millions of pounds for them over a 20 year period. In 2007 Nick was awarded an MBE for his charitable work.
Terry Flanagan MBE – WHP Telecoms
Terry Flanagan is leader of WHP Telecoms (professional services in telecoms), Tootoot (safeguarding platform) and Commando Joes (military ethos in education). Terry’s career includes thirty years in the telecoms industry. He has bought, sold and merged companies and in recent times operated as a business lead in turnaround situations. Terry is a former professional rugby league player, who has played for Great Britain and at club level for Oldham. Terry is the Chair of Mahdlo and in 2017 was awarded an MBE for services to Rugby League and Charity.
