Easter packed lunches bring smiles to 1,100 faces

Throughout the last year we have supported Oldham’s families through difficult times.

Through personal and community outreach, doorstep visits and one-to-one mentoring we have engaged and supported hundreds of families across the borough.

One of our most successful campaigns however has been to provide free packed lunches to any young person who needs one, throughout the school holiday periods.

The Easter half-term break was the latest free packed lunch campaign and saw more than 1100 meals handed out to young people and their families in Alexandra Park in Oldham.

With support from The Women’s Institute, Tesco and Park Cakes we successfully provided 1,170 packed lunches to the young people of Oldham, and in doing so we found out a few interesting statistics…
