Mahdlo’s 3 Peaks of Saddleworth Challenge have raised a phenomenal £13,000 so far to support young people in Oldham.
216 eager walkers got involved with the 15 mile trek across the Saddleworth moors, smashing the previous record for participants.
Funds raised from the event will be used to support Mahdlo projects, providing opportunities to young people across Oldham and the surrounding area.
Beginning bright and early on Saturday morning our intrepid explorers enjoyed a bacon sandwich before heading out over the hills towards the peaks. Taking on local landmarks Pots and Pans, Indian’s Head and Wharmton Hill the route wasn’t for the faint hearted, but having worked so hard throughout the day our walkers were rewarded with some incredible views of Oldham and beyond.

Chris Wareing, Chairman of the Board at https://www.mahdloyz.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Design-our-minibus.png said: “It’s been an absolutely incredible day. Everyone from the individuals to the businesses who have taken part have really thrown themselves into the challenge and raised an unbelievable amount to support young people in Oldham.

Claire Crossfield, Development Manager at Mahdlo added: “We owe a huge thanks to Oldham Mountain Rescue for supporting the event year on year and being on hand if we ever need them. I also want to say a huge thanks to the team at The Royal George and Cross Keys for supporting the event with their hospitality.
