The Holiday Activities and Food Programme is a programme of funded activities during the school holidays aimed to get children who attend to:
- Eat more healthily over the school holidays
- Be more active during the school holidays
- Be safe and not to be socially isolated
- Have a greater knowledge of health and nutrition
At Mahdlo, we offer free Holiday Zone places to young people who receive free school meals, but to do this we need to have that young person’s HAF code first.
This summer it also means we’re able to put on trips – yes, trips! – for Junior and Senior Zone members for the first time! That’s why it’s so important that we get that code back as soon as possible.
For young people
age 8 to year 8
For young people aged 8 to year 8 who are part of Junior Zone, we’ll need a HAF code from a parent or guardian before we can offer free Summer Holiday Zone places.
This code starts HAF and then has some numbers, and is unique to that young person. Please let reception know the code as soon as possible, so we can book a space!
If you don’t have the code, please email OldhamHAF@oldham.gov.uk to request the code again.
For young people
in year 9 and above
If you’re in year 9 or above, you might have received the code yourself – or it might have gone to a parent, guardian or carer.
If you’ve got the code, next time you come to Senior Zone please let reception know.
If you haven’t, check with your parent, guardian or carer, or contact Oldham Council to get the code. You can email them at OldhamHAF@oldham.gov.uk.
If you need help
If you have any questions or need help finding your HAF code, please speak to reception, call us on 0161 624 0111 or email info@mahdloyz.org.
Please note that we cannot provide you with the code, only Oldham Council can do this.
