The best way to share a problem is over a brew and ’Brew Club’ here at Mahdlo is just as it sounds. It is an easy, informal way for young people to share whatever problem or issue they may have. Thanks to a £1175 donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation, more of our members will be able to share their problems over a brew as the money will fund resources and a trained youth worker for one night per week.

Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation is funded through the Small Change Big Difference® scheme where members donate the pennies from the interest on their accounts just once a year to help smaller charities and good causes around the UK.

Victoria Buckley, Customer Consultant at Yorkshire Building Society’s Oldham branch, said: “The Charitable Foundation is funded by our members and I know they would be as proud as we are to be able to support such a worthwhile cause. The Brew Club can be a lifeline to some young people and we’re really pleased to be able to help Mahdlo carry on the fantastic work they do in our community.”

Claire Crossfield, our Development Manager, said: “Brew Club is an invaluable part of what we offer to our members and can also act as a springboard for referrals to more targeted support such as mentoring and counselling. Just having someone you know you can trust to talk to, someone to listen and help, can be life changing. This is a vital part of Mahdlo’s work and the support of Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Trust will make a huge difference to the lives of many young people.”
