Two Oldham community heroes have joined together to fundraise for Mahdlo as part of the charity’s #GiveFromHome campaign.
Both well known in Oldham for their previous community and fundraising activities, are now putting their own spin on the national 2.6 Challenge to help raise funds for Mahdlo Youth Zone.
Every day for the next 26 days one will take 26 steps, 2.6 times per day, and Ruth (RubbishRuthRambles) will walk 2.6 km in two sets of 26 minutes along her corridor at home. They are asking the generous Oldham community to come together and sponsor them by pledging 26p per day for the benefit of Mahdlo Youth Zone.
Lucy Lees, Deputy Chief Executive at Mahdlo Youth Zone, said: “We are thrilled that Ruth has decided to support our Give From Home campaign with this incredibly creative fundraiser!
“The current lockdown has meant that Mahdlo has been forced to cancel all of our fundraising events for the forseeable future so the support by amazing people like Ruth has never been more important. I want to sat a huge thank you them and wish them the best of luck with their 2.6 Challenge, we know they’re going to smash it!”
