Pay: £9.50 per hour
Hours: 6.5 - 10 hours including evenings and weekends

Mahdlo Youth Zone is a state-of-the-art multi-million Pound location providing young people aged 8 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs, engaging and exciting opportunities to try something new, seven days a week.

We’ve got incredible facilities including a 3G Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) pitch climbing wall, boxing gym, three court sports hall, sensory room, fully equipped gym including weightlifting equipment, recreation area and dance, arts, music and media suites and much more.

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Inclusion Worker to join our successful team on a Thursday evening and during our sessions on a Saturday.

Our inclusion team work with young people who have additional needs or disabilities in evening and weekend sessions to ensure they can participate alongside their peers, breaking down barriers and encouraging all young people to share experiences together.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with young people with disabilities and/or additional needs, together with the ability to plan and deliver activity sessions for those with a wide range of abilities. With a good knowledge of health and safety, you will maintain safeguarding best practice and will be confident in managing a group of young people, especially those with challenging behaviour.

It is essential you have a passion and experience in working positively with young people, and a Level 2 Arts Leaders Award, Arts Gold Award, or Youth Work Qualification is desirable but not essential.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • To engage and build rapport with young people with an additional need or a disability, supporting them to achieve their full potential to take part in Mahdlo Youth Zone’s exciting, vibrant offer
  • To plan, lead and deliver safe and structured inclusive activity sessions to meet the needs of a wide range of abilities
  • To actively engage and build rapport with young people to foster a positive relationship
  • Be a positive member of the team, supporting and encouraging volunteers and young leaders to positively impact on young people
