Mahdlo Youth Zone is a state-of-the-art multi-million Pound location providing young people aged 8 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs, engaging and exciting opportunities to try something new, seven days a week.
We’ve got incredible facilities including a 3G Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) pitch climbing wall, boxing gym, three court sports hall, sensory room, fully equipped gym including weightlifting equipment, recreation area and dance, arts, music and media suites and much more.
We have a number of hours available for Inclusion Workers to join our successful team during our twilight (between 4 and 6pm), evening (from 6.15pm) and weekend sessions.
We’re open to recruiting one or more people depending on their availability, so if you can only do weekends or just evenings that’s fine, just let us know in your application!
The successful candidate(s) will engage and build rapport with young people with additional needs or a disability, supporting them to achieve their full potential to take part in Mahdlo Youth Zone’s exciting and vibrant offer. You will be committed to promoting cohesion and inclusion, you will work in a ‘person centred’ way and use your own initiative to meet a range of needs.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with young people with disabilities and/or additional needs, together with the ability to plan and deliver activity sessions for those with a wide range of abilities. With a good knowledge of health and safety, you will maintain safeguarding best practice and will be confident in managing a group of young people, especially those with challenging behaviour.
